Depends on your budget.

This computer site lists all the compatible Motherboards for the Ryzen 5 5600G: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/?compatible_with=sYmmP6&__cf_chl_captcha_tk__=pmd_7STD...

The Asus Crosshair is one of the most expensive but very good Motherboard for around $450.00 or you can buy a cheap Motherboard for around $89.00 dollars.

I would use the highest chipset driver, here probably the X570. The rest is the price-performance ratio and what else you want on the motherboard. The most stable components are also important. I have a GiBy X399 Aorus Pro (300 euros) with Threadripper 1900X 8core 4 Ghz (150 euros) because the newer Ryzen 8core were too expensive for me.

Re: whats a good mother board

Having just upgraded to the Ryzen 7 3700x, I got this to go with it TUF GAMING X570-PLUS.

Asus are always my go to Motherboards.

It is a great stable mobo and the Ryzen worked out of the box and easy bios upgrades too.

I build PC's for people and always recommend Asus, a little more expensive but good.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, Sapphire RX580 Nitro 8gb, Asus TUF Gaming x570 Plus, 32gb Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1tb NVME, Samsung 960 EVO 500gb NVME, WD Black 1tb, Crucial 525gb MX300 SSD, Sandisk Ultra 500gb SSD... Lian Li Galahad AIO 240mm, Seasonic X850 PSU.

@vialli100

I agree I am also a Asus fan. I, myself, when I upgraded from a Asus AM3+ Motherboard to a Ryzen I chose the Asus TUF Gaming X570 Pro WiFi which has worked out very well so far.

@ofd654  make sure the Motherboard you choose has a BIOS FLASHBACK button feature on it. That way if the Motherboard comes with the wrong BIOS version you won't need to have another CPU to update the BIOS.

Re: whats a good mother board

My last motherboard for over 6 years was an Asus Sabbertooth 990X. Unfortunately, in October 2020 the Asus TR4 segment was very expensive (200 euros more) and I opted for the Gigabyte X399 Pro for 300 euros and haven't regretted it.

Agreed,ASUS here as well,

Had the TUF Sabertooth 990FX V3.0 board,no issues whatsoever

Now one on the Crosshair VII X470 and this one on The Crosshair VIII X570 Dark.Super stable.Plus I love the Quality of the components.

I would recommend Asus Tuf Gaming Pro x570 wifi.

there is also a new model but I didn't try. Basically the same specs.
