This board is painfully slow for me, it took 20 minutes to register and get to the point where I can ask a question. So I am going to try to get this done in one shot.
Is there a place with recommended GPU/Graphics card upgrades for specific PC systems?
There used to be. You could go to card manufacturers and they would provide a "configurator" to tell you what is *probably* your best options. I can find the hierarchy for video cards but that doesn't really help.
I want to play video games (i.e., Far Cry Primal.) My current system works but I would like to boost the "rezzing" at higher resolutions (2560 x 1440) on my 32" display. (I have poor eyesight.)
I don't need "bleeding edge" I just want to through the next couple of years before buying a new system.
Any help would be appreciated. Here are my "specs" that someone always asks for (but I would look it up myself if I could find it online...)

A RX 480 would be a significant upgrade for you and should offer good 1440P performance in Far Cry Primal.
What Power Supply are you using?
But before you upgrade to the RX480 you should google it and see what kind of issue's it has. Or read through this forum.
Well, I can find better cards, I'm looking for compatibility.
I think my 7.09 AMI BIOS closes me out of a lot of upgrades.
I have a 460W power supply (300W was the basic option.)
If I have to replace the GPU AND the power supply I'll just get a new computer. I have been building my own computers since 1976 but I no longer have the eyesight or manual dexterity required and it doesn't appear to be cost effective anyway.
p.s. The boards were much faster today.
Yea, your PSU is going to limit what's available to you. But that's the only compatabilty problem I can see your running into. PCI-E version is backward compatible but it looks like your running 3.0 x16 now so you should be ok there. If you do decide to upgrade your PSU don't cheap out.
