Hello AMD Forums,
Recently I'm facing some supernatural error on my desktop PC. The desktop monitor starts flickering or dimming or goes into black screen while using certain applications (Chrome, GIMP, LibreOffice, CPU-Z, CMD etc.) The thing is the monitor doesn't loose power, and when I switch the application using alt+tab or Windows key to desktop the screen comes back. This doesn't happen while playing games like GTA IV Complete Edition, FIFA 18 and Mass Effect. (its like god doesn't want me to work just play crappy old games :P)
I've extensively researched for every possible error or hardware fails but everything is working as intended.
Recently a good man posted about AMD Drivers conflicting with DCOM/COM components, I followed his instruction and turned them off but the problem persists.
Things I've done to troubleshoot my problems were:
SFC /scannow - No Problem
DISM - No Problem
Windows Troubleshoot - No Problem
AMD Driver Uninstall/Reinstall in safe mode
All temperature are okay IMO. My GPU idle temperature is 40-45 degree Celsius.
All directx components are most current ones.
Surprisingly this problem does not happen on integrated Intel chipset.
I think if my monitor is fried it shouldn't be working as whole. Guys please help me rectify this problem as I can't afford anything new in this **bleep** storm of pandemic and this desktop is the only thing I own as a computer.
Specs are
i3 4130
400 watt PSU
GIGABYTE Mother board
HD 7770 1GB or (as AMD software says R7 200 series)
Monitor : ViewSonic VA1916w
All hardware purchased in 2012-2013
If you guys want any detailed logs or specs do tell I will post it.
