Upgrade your video card to a card which has an HDMI port, such as the RX 460.
My Radeon 5850 has an a HDMI port. I have now connected this port to the screnn wit a HDMI cable. the same result. The picture does not fill teh screen.
Adjust the underscan in Radeon Settings to fill the screen.
To adjust the underscan I should be able to open the Catalyst Control Center. But that does not work. So it looks like, I have to install a new driver. Radeon does not offer one, except this
https://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/non-whql-64bit-nieg-radeon-crimson-16.2.1-win10-win8.1-win7-feb27.exe
Is this the option I should use?
If I install it and the system does not work how can I go back to the present version?
In the monitor OSD ther eis an option to change the Image Size under the PICTURE menu (manual page 63 http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201601/20160129180714626/BN46-00480A-Eng.pdf). Try changing this option to see if it makes a difference. The monitor is a native 1080p monitor, so you shouldn't have any underscan happening.
I have solved the problem installing the aboved mentioned drivers update. After installing the proper dirvers software evrything happend automaticly. Life would be easier if Radeon would offer the download of the latest working driver straight under the name of my grafic card Radeon 5850. As a customer I'm not interested in learning, which company did what. Just offer the best solution.
