Enable Smart Access Memory on Alienware R10 Problem

I ordered my Alienware Aurora R10 for the whole purpose of enabling the Smart Access Memory feature.

  • BIOS: Alienware 2.1.1 (01/14/2021)
  • Radeon Software Version: 21.2.3 (2/17/2021)
  • CPU: Ryzen 9 5950X
  • Motherboard: Alienware 0TYR0X A00 (X570)
  • GPU: RX 6800 XT

I have looked around for guidance on how to enable both, Above 4G Decoding and Re-Size BAR Support on the Alienware BIOS without any luck. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

This is a question you should ask the manufacturer...especially since it's a new laptop. > https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/alienware-17/drivers

There is also a Alienware Owners Forum > https://www.alienowners.com/

Thank you for answering but the Alienware Aurora R10 is a Desktop.

Ooops The sites/discussions I posted from Reddit, are not just for laptops...on the manufacturers support site...use the "Change Product" key and it will automatically show support for your desktop. You might see bios or chipset updates as well.

According to AMD, enabling Smart Access Memory will give you a small but free boost of 5% to 11% in gaming performance.

Here is a summary of the test results from our article, RX 6800 XT Smart Access Memory Performance Comparison!

You can expect up to 16% better performance in some games, but no effect in certain games. But overall, you get a free boost in performance. There is simply no reason not to enable Smart Access Memory.

AMD Smart Access Memory: Requirements
Since Smart Access Memory is just an AMD implementation of PCI Express Resizable BAR. Therefore, it can be implemented for all PCI Express 3.0 and PCI Express 4.0 graphics cards and motherboards.

However, AMD is currently limiting it to a small subset of components, having validated it only for their new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs and Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards.

I'm having the exact same issue, did you find out how to enable "smart access memory"?

Not yet, I even reached out to Dell and they also couldn't answer.
