Thank you gigabytes. At least someone has the same driver as me.
I did try the chipset drivers but that didn't change anything. Although I am thinking about when I install OS again I will have the chipset drivers on a USB drive and will install those during the initial install of windows.
Actually it does seem odd that a driver that is 8 yrs old is still being used on a modern day cpu.
The 1600 does run very good, but it never gets fully utilized, more along the lines of 30-35% so I figured I would ask about the driver to see if it was the correct version.
