So much for uppity desktop parts.....

Guess we are stuck using DDR3 based rigs for a while longer.....

Its the laptop SKU with the DDR4 memory controller turned on.

Its not suitable as a desktop anyway really.

Although some Mini ITX systems with Carrizo CPU's could be cool!

After all they have those PC sticks & mini boxes with Atoms and Carrizo stomps all of them so.....

With the lower prices for DDR3, I can stuff my 2 boxes with lots and then when Zen does finally ship, I can retrofit one box at a time.

My most recent motherboard is the MSI 970A-G43 which I bought to replace the M4A77D which suffered from SATA problems etc

This newer board is much faster so its as much an upgrade as it is a repair

With a pair of machines using DDR3 I need to consider buying RAM by the tray

The new motherboard is faster?

I would say most likely only the ram is faster.

But there is no reason to buy ram by the tray.

I have 8 machines and 7 of them use DDR3.

I have no use for a tray of RAM lol.
