What have you been playing in 2025?

I have been having a great time this year, playing a variety of games. There is something to be said about the last few titles that I have been sinking my time into.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has been really fun, bringing back the feeling I had when I was a kid playing FFVII on console. It appears to be very well optimized and maintains the same feeling the original has.

Frag Punk has been pretty sweet, with the big twist of having a card based perk system. It feels similar to CS:GO in the same way Valorant is similar to both of these games. The best way to describe it would be a fast-paced shooter with cards and points that impact the match and the character you play as. Big head mode is real and fun.

Oblivion Remastered has been an even better experience than I remember experiencing with the original. That is more than likely due to the few changes they made to the combat and leveling. I am having a blast. I still need get the main quest done. I have done very little with it, but to be fair it is wise to knock out the Arena early.

What have you all been up to?

Any games you are excited to play this year?

Any games surprise you so far?

I was always overburden with no time so I shifted a bit to another computer to play games. I got a Commodore 64 and now I'm playing all sorts of old games.

Microprose Soccer been my go to as well as some Sonic and Dr Mário ports. Mission Impossible, Hessian, Street Fighter and Ironman Offroad.

I feel an imense joy on those 8bit games. They are even making brand new games for it.

Its just so great that I decided to rebuild a Windows 95 machine.

That is awesome. Did you build the Commodore 64 or did you manage to find one that still functioned?

No, its a remake/emulation machine with the same feel as an original Commodore. Even the keys sound just like I remember.

There are a lot of FPGA's replicas out there and good condition original set cost a kidney. The average ones start around 500€ just for the computer (in bad shape) with no accessories. So Instead, got the Retro Games full size replica. TheC64

Look and feels like a Commodore, start it and goes straight to BASIC or Carousel Game selection if you please, no configurations needed. You can load games the old way with floppy disk if you really want to. And I going to do just that.

Sealed pack of floppies, snatched 3 packs for very little money.

My only game is World of Tanks - Blitz.  It's short (as in 7 minutes at a time) and I love tank warfare.  I can play a few episodes and then give it a break, resting my right wrist in the process.  I still enjoy the thrill of crushing the enemy.  It's in my blood and probably my DNA.....

We got the pro over here. Top of the leaderboard.

That's awesome. I tried the different vehicle war games, War Thunder, WoT, WoT Blitz, World of Warships. They are way more involved than I thought they would be going into it. I should give War Thunder another go. I think that was the only one that I was reasonably decent at.

Have you ever tried Century: Age of Ashes? It's a flying dogfight style game, but no planes, only dragons.

Nope.  When I try other games (like Stray), I usually get nauseous after a bit and my right wrist starts to hurt.  I need to stick with short games so I can walk away for a while when I need to.

I recommend WWII online @BigAl01. You can sign up for a free account. There are tons of tanks to try out

I played Horizon Zero dawn this year. Even more when I picked up my 9070xt. But I am over it now. I play a ton of MLB The Show 25, and Richard (**bleep**) Slinger, averages .320 avg, 52 HR's, and 150RBI's a year. Yes, settings are casual/ veteran. I have been playing WWII Online for 23 years, so I always jump into that a few times a week. Not really looking forward to anything but haven't been paying much attention lately.

recently I have been playing oblivion remastered. I have the original as well and I like the changes made not only to the UI, but also the graphics.

So far this year, I've played Indian Jones, which was great, Assassin's Creed Shadows, which I'm enjoying, the new remake of Oblivion, and as always, Fortnite for my PVP fix. It's been a solid year of gaming so far.

This year I have been playing Marvel Rivals every day, trying to finish my battle pass before my missions expire. Other than that game, I have been playing Schedule 1, Oblivion Remaster, and R.E.P.O. this month.

I'm looking forward to playing Ratatan on my handheld. I loved playing Patapon on the PSP, and I am glad to see its creator continue making these types of games after Sony closes its Japan Studio.

I'm still enjoying Mobile Legends—it's my go-to game lately. Whether it's ranked or casual, it's always fun to jump in.
