It turns out I have a computer that's actually good for gaming, but it's crashing. My components are:
Asrock A620M RS Pro Wi-Fi motherboard
Ryzen 5 7600 up to 5.2Hz
Nvidia RTX 4060Ti 16GB
1x32GB socket, 6000 Mbps
Whenever I enter a game, the CPU is at 100% while the GPU is around 20%.
It's worth noting that I'm using DX12 at low graphics, except for the view distance, which is set to Epic.
One stick of memory, when you have dual memory controllers, is not a good idea. I would get a second stick of the 32 GB memory. I would also set the CPU to not run that high in frequency. In your motherboards BIOS, I would set it to default settings. I suggest you also install the latest BIOS update for your motherboard.
They are already on the way to a 2x16 dual channel, assuming that is one of the errors as you tell me, so do you recommend that I put 5200 MHz speed on the RAM in the meantime so that it doesn't cause me problems?
Have you made sure the sticks you ordered are on the board's QVL?
It can make all the difference in the world, meaning they were tested/certified by your board vendor to run at rated speeds.
The CPU at 100% means that your CPU is a tad too weak for the 4060ti, and according to bottleneck calculator, you have 11% of CPU bottleneck, its not that much but in some games you may feel it more than others.
Don't use low graphics, put some load on that GPU, at least it has 16gb.
I would run the both the current RAM and the new RAM (when it arrives) in default settings to start with. As @johnnyenglish suggests, you are probably bottlenecking the CPU. You don't want any component running at 100% for long periods if it can be avoided.
Thanks for the advice.
Please be advised that the AMD Support Forums have moved. If @BigAl01 or @johnnyenglish's solution doesn't work, I suggest registering and posting your question in the new PC Processor and Graphics Community Cheers.
