Most of the time, when setting up synchronization in the FirePro Control Center, configuring timing servers and timing clients causes FirePro Control Center to hang for over a minute, with the apply button pressed. After a while the screen will flicker black and it will have applied the settings.

Any reason why this happens, what could be causing it?

I agree that 1 minute appears to be very long. How many monitors do you have connected? Typically the driver tries to synchronize the monitors sequentially. Depending one the monitor several attempts might be needed to achieve the desired timing. During this time the control center is blocked.

What are common issues that could occur which would prevent the displays from synchronization?
