X470 + SSD RAID - TRIM not supported

Hi,

I have recent purchased a Ryzen 2700 with a X470 series chipset motherboard. I am running 4 SSDs with the on-board RAID controller as a RAID 10. I noticed that Windows 10 does not detect these as SSDs but rather regular disks and attempts to perform defrag on the SSDs rather than TRIM.

I have confirmed this by running:

defrag C: /L

Which reports: The operation requested is not supported by the hardware backing the volume. (0x8900002A)  .

I noticed this discussion (SSD in RAID not supporting TRIM ) which mentioned that TRIM was supported as of driver 17.10, I am running 18.10 but still receive the error. Has anyone actually gotten an X470 chipset board to perform TRIM on an SSD RAID, and if so, how did you do it? For now I have disabled optimization in Windows, not the best solution but it will at least prevent defrag from running.

Cheers

-Justin
