Windows 10 update 2004 crash with Laptop AMD APU A10-4600M ( AMD Radeon HD 7600G + 8600M)

I was using Ubuntu 20.04, and after sometime I tried to install Windows 10 Update 2004. Information of my Windows version and other hardware information is given in last of the post.

After the update Windows crashes Randomly. And with chromium based browsers like Chrome and new MS Edge it crashes after 10 or 20 seconds after when browswer is open. With other softwares too but not that frequent.

If I try to download latest drivers from Windows update, then my drivers doesn't work, and if I download exact driver from AMD then driver works but as above mentioned crash happens.

As per this article Link it looks like AMD is not supporting anymore these drivers. But for me this PC looks like working completely fine. No issue at all. So are you saying that I should throw this in garbage, as just AMD is not going to release further drivers.

If you can't do it, then at least upload soruce to GIT, someone from open source community can try fixing/porting to newer versions of Windows or Linux. This is not a good idea abandoning existing customers.

I have enough money to buy any new AMD graphics, it's just my previous one is not dead yet. And your drivers are forcing me to change my choice about AMD !!

So either make your next hardware worst, or provide drivers till it lasts.

Thanks much for making outsanding hardware !

Edit 14-08-2020:

Got feedback from AMD support to uninstall driver completely from DDU and install new software from Link: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-8000m-series/amd-radeon-hd-8690m.... After installation of driver from this link, my driver is not working, rather it is being stopped by windows while boot time. Error in driver properties is: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". Attached screenshot.

Hope to get it resolved soon, as AMD is now looking into it :-).

Edit 15-08-2020:

Finally struggle of over more than a month, for some people may be more. Today I got another update from Windows Updates, for my dual graphics card. And now it looks working fine. I'll report later if see any issue.

Here is latest working version details:

Is this the driver you installed?

Which one?

Hi,

Many thanks to your answer. Yes I have tried this both, first one I have tried which installed driver, and I can see that driver is working, but after sometime I see blue screen error as i mentioned.

After I tried second one, which looks installing some AMD suite but not driver, not sure didn't pay much attention on this one. Anyway both of them didn't solve the problem.
