Hi guys. There is an old laptop Lenovo ideapad 110-15ACL AMD A6-7310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics + discrete AMD Radeon R5 M430 2gb., RAM 8 Gb, ssd 240 Gb.
Until 1903, all driver versions worked fine. After installing 1903, the laptop only works with the old v.21.19.512.0 (21.03.2017) drivers from the Lenovo website.
But if I disable a discrete card in BIOS, then I can install any, even the newest driver. When installing any AMD Video driver, Win10 1903 is loading, but a black
screen and an empty taskbar. If you install the old driver v.21.19.512.0 (21.03.2017) from the Lenovo website or turn off the discrete card, it works super.
What could be the problem? Why do all new drivers work for 1809, but not for 1903? What could be the problem?
Same problem on Lenovo G50-45 after clean installation of Windows 10 1903. AMD A8-6410 with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics + discrete AMD Radeon R5 M330 2gb. Black screen and only mouse cursor is visible. Tried driver from Windows Update, but performance is poor and causes BSOD (thread stuck in device driver) sometimes. Old driver from Lenovo website v16.60.3001 (based on 17.1.1) works fine.
Same here on an Acer Aspire E5-551G with AMD A10-7300 CPU and Radeon R7 M265 graphics adapter.
All drivers running fine on Windows versions prior to 1903, but after updating Windows to 1903 I get a black screen with circling dots or a black screen with the mousepointer after reboot.
Seems, Windows uninstalls the latest AMD drivers because it renders them unappropriate, and replaces them with the standard Windows VGA driver. After reboot, Radeon software says "No AMD drivers installed or not working properly".
AMD support hasn't been of great help so far. They seem to avoid the aspect of Windows 1903 and their drivers not working together, and keep suggesting I do a reset and clean Windows installation, or refer to Acer for the latest drivers (which are from 2015 and haven't been updated since).
Sorry for my bad English. I can barely write English. I use the Google translator...
I hope you can understand everything so far what I write ...
I have a Lenovo E555 (ThinkPad) - 20DH000XGE with an A10-7300 with Radeon ™ R6 graphics APU and, according to the manufacturer, a 2GB Radeon R7 M260DX. After installing Windows, I have to pull out the LAN cable, because Windows 10 Update 1903 Automatically downloaded a driver and my system after a restart Larm. It also appears only a black picture with black taskbar and mouse pointer and you can not operate. If you turn off the extra video card in bios, everything is going great. On the manufacturer side is a driver of 2016 but is very old and brings its problems. I can eg. For some reason, Youtube videos no longer show them, they show in green. In addition, there are also problems with newer games that come messages that you must have installed a current video card driver.
I hope there is a solution to the problem soon. Not the manufacturer Lenovo but AMD is responsible for giving out the right drivers.
Same problem for me.
It works properly in HDMI. But not in Displayport.
I updated the drivers (19.6.3) but the bug is still present. The connection is constantly lost.
Is there still no solution for our problem? I have downloaded Windows 10 1903 X64 again. After the reinstall it immediatly downloads the driver for the screen, which just shows a black screen with mouse coursor on my Lenovo E555 (ThinkPad) - 20DH000XGE. Then nothing happens after that. My laptop is less than 4 years old and I can only use it properly with Windows 10 1809. The support end on May 12th 2020. How is it going to get further? According to the manufacturer my laptop has a A10-7300 with Radeon ™ R6 graphics APU and a 2GB Radeon R7 M260DX. Newer drivers say it's a R5 M200 series. But that was never a problem with 1809. The latest driver "Version Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.5.2" and "Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.6.3 Optional" are working in 1809 perfectly, but they do not in 1903. The same happens when I disable the connection to the Internet during installation to install the driver manually. It seems there still isn't a solution for this problem. Do we have to wait for Windows 10 1909 or will there be a solution in the meantime? I can't find any in the Internet about it. My english is very bad and a friend of mine had to translate this text for me. I'm not the only person with this problem it seems, who have other APU/GPU Dual graphics, but not a proper solution. I installed an older driver which is from 2016, but it can't play certain YouTube videos. They are green with a bunch of colored pixeled animations. Mainly with the MP4 Codec. I doubt it's a problem with Firefox, although it works in other browsers. The old graphic drivers are causing problems also in newer games. I hope there will be a solution. I'm clueless and got back to Windows 10 1809. With the current drivers everything works fine there.
Welcome to the club... :-( There's a general incompatibility between Windows 10 1903 and AMD drivers for APU.
I don't see a solution coming soon, as noone seems to feel responsible for it.
AMD advised me to remove drivers using DDU and install again 19.6.3 :-) This is despite the fact that I wrote to them that the laptop works (Windows 10 1903) ONLY with drivers from the Lenovo website
