What is the max expected HBM2 operating temperature for Reference RX Vega 64?
My Reference RX Vega 64 card will cause the computer to freeze and reboot while playing FFXV. I see the HBM temps in GPU-Z read up to 95c while the GPU core temp is only at 80-85c. Is this normal? By comparison my Sapphire Nitro+ RX Vega 64 never exceeds 75c on the HBM and is stable at all times. I doubt it is PSU related since I have a Seasonic Prime Titanium 1000w and have tested the card in another computer with a Corsair RM 850w.
I suspect possibly the thermal paste from the factory is not dissipating the heat from the HBM at the same rate as it does the GPU core since there were those differences in the height between core and hbm. Since the card is still under warranty I am hesitant to open it up and check myself.
