I am not sure as I said I am not familiar with CF. But I think it logically.
If the hardware can not work under stock settings as it should, then it's PC side issue or hardware issue(or driver issue), think it in this way is more simple than wasting time on modifying hardware settings.
After all you do not OC. anything, factory settings should work for you.

You need to wait until it shows "pass 1/error 0" on screen.
Pass 1 should be enough to know if memory has issue or not. Someone suggests should wait till pass 3 though.
