Vega Frontier Edition not supported with 21.4.1?

Is AMD dropping Vega FE 64 support for gamers?  Why is it not compatible with the latest driver release?

Are you getting a AMD Installation error 182 by any chance?

Yes and on the website for radeon vega frontier edition air cooled, that is the latest option

The reason why I asked if you got a AMD Installation error 182 because this other User has a similar but probably not the same as your problem: https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/cannot-install-21-4-1-on-r9-270-series/m-p/465857#M142...

But this User has a R9-270 GPU card. His previous AMD Driver works fine but the latest it doesn't.

The driver shown in my  screen clipping is the current driver I'm running.  I'm just concerned that its the end of the road for vega FE.

I checked the other Professional GPU card drivers and they have the same Driver as the Vega FE so it is still being supported, at least, with Professional AMD Drivers.

But for the VEGA FE Consumer AMD driver the last update was Adrenalin Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.3.2  (03/29/2021) from the same link as above as you mentioned.

Most likely AMD hasn't updated the Consumer Driver for the VEGA FE Professional GPU Cards on their download page.

Personally I haven't heard of AMD stopping support for the Vega FE Professional GPU cards for Consumer Drivers.

NOTE: Sorry I misread your original post. I have been doing that some what lately.

EDIT: I checked the Consumer GPU card the RX5700XT and it is showing both the Consumer and Professional GPU drivers: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-5700-series/amd-radeon-rx-5700-series/amd-radeon-...

So it seems like AMD just hasn't updated the VEGA FE Download page to show the latest Consumer GPU driver.

If you are getting a AMD Installation error than I suggest you open a AMD Service Request (Official AMD SUPPORT) and ask them: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form

I did contact support and got a vague answer.  Can the vega 64 driver be forced installed?

I believe that AMD Forum's expert on Professional GPU cards can help you with your issue @fsadough .

I believe 21.4.1 should work

I just check the INF file. Vega FE is not included in the 21.4.1 driver. The last driver to be used is 21.3.2

Does that mean that AMD stopped supporting the Vega FE with consumer drivers?

looks like it

Yet they still list this card on their website as both having a gaming mode and professional mode...

The support will not be included in every single gaming driver. On this particular case you need to wait for the upcoming ProGraphics driver and at the same time an Adrenalin driver will be published on:

https://www.amd.com/en/support/professional-graphics/radeon-pro/radeon-pro-w5000-series/radeon-pro-w...

At the end, it is a blue card not a red one...

any updates, any work arounds? 6 months now.... and no new gaming drivers.

*bump*

21.9.1 is out and still no update for FE - users cmon AMD this must be a joke -.-

yay, 21.9.2 supports Vega FE.

you will still need to add the registry key to run in gaming mode as the default install will revert back to PRO mode:

browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318\0000

create DWORD KMD_IsGamingDriver

set it's value to 1
