Drivers & Software

The driver keeps writing to disk.

When I watch a video, there's extra drive activity. When I pause the video, the drive activity stops. When I unpause, it starts again.

I booted windows into safe mode and then opened a video. There was no extra drive activity.

I uninstalled the AMD driver and then opened a video. There was no drive activity.

This tells me that AMD driver 20.1.3 and also version 16.11.5 are both writing to the disk when playing videos. How do I stop this?

I don't use relive or do streaming or anything. Is there some kind of option that will stop the driver's contact with my storage drive?

Open Resource Monitor, and look under the Disk Activity section, in it there's a column for "File". Which file is being written to when you are watching videos?

I made a mistake. The driver is not writing as much as I thought it was. Thanks for replying, guys.

How much RAM do you have available? Also which motherboard? CPU?
