I have a brand new AMD Ryzen 5800X and Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master with the latest AMD chipset drivers and BIOS installed.
I have a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB boot drive, Samsung 860 QVO 2TB secondary drive, and a blank ADATA SU800 that I want to use as a cache for a Seagate 10TB HDD that is also in the system. This worked fine with my old 4770K Intel system via RST.
Every time I try to install the StoreMI software I get a message about installation failed, rolling back the changes, and then the final message is StoreMI Installation Failed. Error Code: 01.
I have read various forum posts of people having similar issues at that they resolved it by cleaning their SSD. I have used DISKPART to clean the drive completely, zeroing out the drive, and still no change.
I have also disabled antivirus during the install just in case that is affecting it.
Looking at the log file I can see the following:
MSI (s) (E4:60) [19:27:06:151]: Note: 1: 1707 MSI (s) (E4:60) [19:27:06:151]: Product: AMD StoreMI -- Installation operation completed successfully.
searching for "error" or "failed" in the log file yields no results.
I can upload the full log file if requested. I don't see an option to do it whilst typing this post.
Any help would be appreciated.
I found the following in the AMD_StoreMI_UI.txt log file located under C:\AMD\StoreMI\Logs:

Looks like a NVMe driver issue. Any ideas?
Are you getting error code 01 or -1? I've been getting the latter trying to install the new storemi. The previous version was working for me at one point. AMD's support personnel have been very unhelpful regarding the problem.
Sorry, yes you are correct. Error Code: -1
I have the same error -1 code
and I have no idea to fix it.
Not sure if this related. But do you have an Optical Disk drive (ODD) attach to SATA?
I successfully installed the software by using msconfig to turn off all the non-microsft services and all startup items. I've verified optical drive is working. Hopefully this works for you guys, too.
Thank you, I just reinstall windows and then it works
clean install or disabling non MS services gives me the same error. I still think it is NVMe related. Does anyone else see the same NVMe driver error I see in their logs?
Anyway I have found an alternative solution; using a trial version of PrimoCache 4.1 and it seems to be working well. I might end up buying/using it instead of waiting for AMD to fix up their sh...
disconnect the internet first before clean install windows.
then install AMD chipset > reboot > install StoreMI
If I leave it connect to the internet. It will pull the driver from windows update and make it error -1
I managed to solve the problem with the error code -1 by running the installation with administrator rights, even though I am already a system administrator. Previously, I also disabled services and autorun, I also tried installing from safe mode, nothing helped, and running as an administrator solved this problem with rolling back the installation.
I have the same problem, Error Code: -1.
Please try the steps below and let me know if it resolves your error code -1 issue.
1. Use Windows Start Menu search and type MSCONFIG and click enter
2. Navigate to the services tab and click hide all Microsoft services
3. Click disable all and click Apply
4. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up Task Manager
5. Navigate to the Start-up Tab, right click any items in here and select disable
6. Restart your system
7. Try to re-install the StoreMI software
8. Repeat the steps above to re-enable the disabled services and start-up items
Still error code -1
I'm having the same issue, I had storeMI installed, I had to uninstall it as it conflicted with Sabrent Rocket control panel. When I have tried to reinstall StoreMI it has failed with a Error Code: -1, I have the same references to NVME drivers in the log files
Interesting, my log says nothing about NVME or any "Error Code".
I have the same error as everyone here. The old version installed like a charm. Why, after more than a month, can't AMD correct it?
May be the page file associated with the Non-Windows drive could explain the installation issue:
Please try the below steps and see if that resolves the issue:
"Windows + R" type "SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe" and launch the same -> Advanced -> Performance "Settings" -> Advanced Virtual Memory"Change" -> "Uncheck" Automatically manage paging file size for all drives Ensure "Paging" is only set to [Windows] Drive and not other drives.
After doing the steps, reboot the system and try installing StoreMI again. After StoreMI Installation, user can revert the Page file setting to previous settings if necessary.
Already have the page file locked to C: so it makes no difference. I still think it is NVMe related given the original logs I posted.
Awesome support. -.-
Did the steps help fix the Installation issue ?
No the issue still persists. Same errors in the logs as I posted before regarding NVMe
Another week and nothing happend.
Please share the details for the Below to check if we can provide a possible solution:
- Motherboard Model Number
- Processor Used
- Operating System Version (in cmd windows type "winver")
- How many SATA HDD and SATA SSDs connected
- How many NVMe is connected
- Where is the OS Installed ? (On SATA HDD/ SATA SSD / NVMe)
- Version of the StoreMI that you are trying to install.
I am getting a similar error.
- Motherboard Model Number - ASUS ROG B550F WIFI
- Processor Used - Ryzen 5 3600
- Operating System Version (in cmd windows type "winver") - OS Build 21343.1000
- How many SATA HDD and SATA SSDs connected - 2 Internal SATA HDD
- How many NVMe is connected - 1 NVMe SSD
- Where is the OS Installed ? (On SATA HDD/ SATA SSD / NVMe) - NVMe SSD
- Version of the StoreMI that you are trying to install - 126.96.36.199
I originally installed 188.8.131.52 successfully, but it wasn't compatible with my configuration then so I uninstalled it. Since then, neither 130 nor 150 would install with error code -1. The various solutions others had tried didn't work.
I just noticed that C:\Program Files\AMD\StoreMI_Cleanup\AMD Store MI Cleanup.exe was still sitting on my system, so I ran it. The first time it crashed while removing the registry entries, but the second time it succeeded. After a reboot, now Store MI installed OK!
It looks like some crap was left behind from my original install that worked that was tripping the installer up subsequently. On my new successful install, AMD Store MI Cleanup.exe doesn't even exist on my system, yet it was left behind when it failed.
- Motherboard Model Number: X570 Gigabyte Gaming X
- Processor Used: 5900x
- Operating System Version: 20H2 build 19042.928

i have already verify the AHCI mode, paging file, hybernation & Co. disabled, run the installer as administrator, clean disk with diskpart ecc. ecc.
always get the same error and i can't figure out why.... anyone from the staff could explain to me why? Thanks in advance...
I always got this error but today when I went to install the program again I encountered a new error 65536
