Ryzen 3 3100 CPU won't update

Hello.

I have a Ryzen 3 3100 CPU with ASRock A320M/ac motherboard. I'm trying to check for updates on my CPU, but it says my driver has the latest update, but I've never updated it since having it in 2020. There's an update from 5/2022 on AMD's website, but the StoreMI program keeps saying it's not supported. I recently also have updated to Windows 11. My PC is a prebuilt from Cyber power and I bought it back in 2020. Should I worry about updating my CPU?

The 3100 CPU has no drivers to update. It doesn't have Integrated Graphics.

Here is where you can download the latest Win 10/11 StoreMI program and Windows 10 Ryzen Master for your Processor: https://www.amd.com/en/support/cpu/amd-ryzen-processors/amd-ryzen-3-desktop-processors/amd-ryzen-3-3...

I am assuming you could be talking about your Motherboard's Chip Set drivers. That you can download from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/a320

Otherwise you will need to clarify by what you meant by updating your CPU.

Okay, yes it was the chipset drivers. I was trying to figure out everything, so I apologize. Would I mess anything up if I were to update my chipset drivers?

No as long as the link I gave you is the correct Chip driver package for your Motherboard A320.

How would I know if it’s the correct chip? Where would I look that up at? Again, sorry. I’m slowly learning about PCs

Here is ASRock's Specs on your A320m/ac Motherboard: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/A320Mac/index.asp#Specification

Generally most Motherboard in its model name has the Chip set that is uses.

Your Motherboard has A320 which is a AMD Chipset in your model name as an example.

EDIT: No all Motherboards show the Chip set in its Model name though. For that you need to go to the Motherboard's Specs to find the Chip set driver it needs.

Oh, okay. I get it now. Thank you so much for this information. Is it always good to update your chipset?
