I've installed a new RX470 this weekend and played a lot of games on it, but today starting DOOM it starts on my second monitor. I cannot for the life of me get it to start on my first monitor, and this is because the Crimson ReLive 17.1.2 drivers have set my second monitor as number 1, and my first monitor as number 2. In Windows 7 the monitors are shown correctly, so I cannot switch them there for the drivers to follow.
I'm using ReLIve 17.1.2 because the Relive 17.2.1 drivers cause severe artifacting in The Elderscrolls Online, an MMORPG I play. With those drivers all the grass flickers wildly which is very distracting.
Any idea on how to get the videocard to follow Windows in this decision? Because when I click Arrange Displays, I get the options as shown in the first image. There they are correct.
Also, all games till thus far have followed the normal setup, and started on my BenQ monitor.
The BenQ is connected via a Displayport->DVI-D convertor
The Samsung is connected via a DVI-D->DVI-D cable.
Setup: Windows 7 - 64bit
Sapphire RX470 - 8GB
Crimson ReLive 17.1.2 - ReLive and gaming profiles turned off.
May be a longshot, Preferences > Restore Factory Defaults (take pics/notes of current custom settings, if any).
Thanks for that, but that didn't change a thing.
Perhaps it is a buglet in the drivers I use and I'll just have to wait for the next drivers - after 17.2.1 - to see if those fix the artifacting in ESO and this thing.
The weirdest thing is even, when in Preferences going to Radeon Additional Settings it shows my monitors in the correct order. Identify all shows the 1 on monitor 1, the 2 on monitor 2.
It's just in the Display tab in Radeon Settings that it's not set correctly.
As for DOOM, I'll try an uninstall & reinstall, perhaps that that fixes things, as besides it starting on the wrong monitor, it also starts in 800x600 - 16bit colours.
Do the AMD techs read here as well, or should I report this separately to them via the Report Issue option?
Okay, I managed to fix the problem of DOOM using the wrong monitor, in DOOM's settings. Even though it says there that monitor 1 is default, it still uses monitor 2 by that default. It appears this and the resizing of the resolution to the even ickier!! 640x480 has been a bug since September of last year and no one is in any hurry there to fix this.
Leaves the wrong monitor showing in Display in the AMD Settings software, I have reported that via Report Issue.
