RHEL 7.1 and Catalyst 15.7 does not work with SELinux enabled

Just wanted to bring attention to this issue so it gets fixed.

Description of problem:

Black/blank screen instead of login window in gnome with SELinux enabled on RHEL 7.1. Catalyst 14.12 Works with SELinux enabled. Have not tested 15.5.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install Catalyst 15.7

2. Reboot and get a blank screen instead of the login window in gnome.

3. Disable SELinux and reboot

4. Login screen works

Actual result:

No login screen

Expected result:

Login screen should work with catalyst and selinux enabled.

Also added to unofficial bugzilla Bug 1188 – RHEL 7.1 and Catalyst 15.7 does not work with SELinux enabled

Re: RHEL 7.1 and Catalyst 15.7 does not work with SELinux enabled

I have a FirePro M6100 on CentOS 7.2.1511 and installed 15.201.2401.  Similar problem. I had to install and set LightDM for the display manager to get back to a login screen.  After that, I had to install KDE Plasma because I get the Oops screen if I try to login to my Gnome desktop.

BTW, (in the future) instead of disabling SELinux, set it to permissive mode instead.  That way you won't have to go through a relabel if this gets fixed and you can set SELinux back to enforcing mode.

This has been fixed in 15.12 and RHEL 7.2. Driver works with SELinux enabled
