Radeon Pro Settings Transparent Window

Hello,

I am facing a problem with Radeon Pro WX7100 graphics card with Altium Designer. The problem is PCB Design window in Altium Designer comes empty, no visible graphics what so ever and extremely slow. This is also an issue with Radeon Pro Settings application, Radeon Pro Settings start with a transparent/blurred window with no content, i can drag the window so it is not unresponsive.

I am using dual monitors and if i turn off and on either one of the displays and everything rescales, all graphics in Altium Designer and Radeon Pro Settings shows up although still extremely slow and do not refresh further.

I tried all driver versions from 19 to 20.Q3 and issue still persists. Below find info about the computer.

HP Z4 G4 Workstation,

Windows 10 Build 14393

Intel Xeon W-2125 CPU,

DxDiag shows DirectX version 12 and all DirectX features activated for both displays.

I looked closer to the Radeon Settings App with Process Explorer and saw that CPU utilization is at 0.03% level and most cycles are spent on a thread which is waiting on a ntdll.dll WaitForSingleObject + 0x14 called from Kernelbase.dll WaitForSingleObjectEx + 0x8f called from dwmapi.dll DwmpDxUpdateWindowSharedSurface+0x2d4d called from dxgi.dll CreateDXGIFactory1 + 0xb856 which continues with calls originating to libGLESV2 waitsync + 0x42bf2 and libGLESv2 ANGLEResetDisplayPlatform + 0xc6df6.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The first thing I would do is update your Windows 10 (2016 version 14393) to the latest Windows 10 version and see if that fixes your issues.

It most likely the latest AMD Pro drivers are not compatible with your unsupported Windows 10 version since the latest AMD Drivers requires your Windows 10 to be fully updated via Windows Update.

Since you are not getting any more  Windows Updates that will make the latest drivers incompatible.

After updating Windows OS and still have issue then report back with any errors you are getting and complete computer information so that @fsadough can assist you who is AMD Forums expert on AMD Professional GPU cards.

NOTE: Unless you are using the Long Term Windows OS then you need to post the exact Windows  OS you are have installed.

Thank you @elstaci, it is exactly Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB 64 Bit Build 14393 which seems to be the latest version for LTS Branch. I am open for any suggestions @fsadough .

I must also add that there is this Altium Designer Viewer which you can view the PCB 2D/3D. The difference between this viewer and actual CAD software in terms of api usage seem that viewer is using atiumdag.dll and amdihk32.dll for visualization but other is using atidxx64.dll?

Build 14393 of Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB 64 Bit is version 1607. Do you see the problem on 1809 as well? Is there any trial version of Altium Designer for repro?
