Radeon driver 19.9.2 and 19.10.2 - atikmdag.sys - UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

Hi,

I get a BSOD when I close Anno 1800 with the latest AMD driver (19.9.2 and 19.9.10).

Here is the output from WinDbg:

*******************************************************************************
* *
* Bugcheck Analysis *
* *
*******************************************************************************

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: ffff8c015108af90
Arg3: ffffc108a8615ff0
Arg4: fffff8061a6c7329

relax the memory timing a bit which might stabile the problem

Okay, thanks. Tried it with different timings in Wattman. I also tried to down-clock the GPU and VRAM, but didn't help.

I forgot to mention the graphics card, what I use:

Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX580 LE

I have currently two games installed on my system. Diablo 3 and Anno 1800.

The issue appears only when I close Anno 1800. Not when I play.

There are no issues with Diablo 3 with the new driver.

besides the timing you may get stability with overvolting the RAM to 1.44V which worked sot solve BSOD problems on my box

I have figured out the issue.

I have connected a second monitor (TV) with my PC. Now I disabled cloning of the screen in Windows settings.

Anno 1800 works without a BSOD now without overvolting and overclocking.

It's a workaround for the issue. But it's definitely a driver bug since at least version 19.7.1

No workaround with 19.5.2 needed.

19.10.2 works on my box without issue

I had to overvolt my RAM to stabilize it
