Radeon Chill does nothing, will ruin it?

Jump to solution

Casual games should not be running at 2,000 frames per second and using 100% of the GPU.

Besides heating up the room for no good reason, it will shorten the longevity of the card.

This is unacceptable.

Don't expect me to buy anymore AMD products until this is fixed.

Don't make excuses this time. Just fix it.

Can't contact support for now because it's temporarily down, so I post here. If you have the same concerns, don't be quiet about it, let AMD know.

The only solution is to download RTSS (RivaTuner Statistics Server) from Guru3D.  Once installed and launched, click "Frametime limit" so that it changes to "Framerate limit" then choose how many frames per second.

It takes a few seconds for the frame rate to get under control, but it works and becomes stable.

You may want to switch "Start with Windows" to "ON" in case you forget to launch it manually.

Thank you Alexey Nicolaychuk.
