When using drivers version 19.12.1 there is no such problem, the problem is with versions 19.12.2 and 19.12.3

Ryzen 3700x, x570 motherboard, Radeon 5700xt

latest bios (agesa)

latest chipset driver

same problem on video driver - 19.12.2 and 19.12.3

but game works good on video driver - 19.12.1

Its working for me on 19.12.1 too.

I'm afraid AMD will never fix that problem. This new drivers come with a lot of bugs.

Just installed 20.1.1 it doesnt work. Same issue than in 19.12.2 and 3.

Any one knows if AMD is aware of this issue?

Yes, its listed on known issues from last driver: ** A limited number of games such as Nioh, Dead or Alive 6, Trials Rising, Tetris Effect and Atelier Ryza may crash or fail to launch.**

Windows 10 64bit 1909, Nioh temporary startup fix:
1. Using "7-Zip" right click on "win10-radeon-software-adrenalin-2019-edition-19.12.1-dec2" select "Open archive"
Navigate to "Packages/Drivers/Display/WT6A_INF/B349181" find the file "atidxx64.dll" drag it out of "7-Zip"
    onto your desktop.
2. Navigate to "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0350652.inf_amd64_18673f4bf2e5fe02\B350656"         drag the file "atidxx64.dll" into this location replacing it.
I successfully replaced "atidxx64.dll" dual boot Hackintosh having access to my Windows drive, i am now able to play Nioh with the latest AMD driver without uninstalling/reinstalling AMD drivers booting into safe mode using "Display Driver Uninstaller" etc.
If you can not replace files over to "Windows\System32" location i have not tried this way worth a try, knowing the
version of AMD Adrenalin-2020-Edition you are using example:
1. Put "atidxx64.dll" file you dragged onto your desktop from "win10-radeon-software-adrenalin-2019-edition-19.12.1-           dec2" into this location "C:\AMD\Win10-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-2020-Edition-20.1.1-                                                   Jan9\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF\B350656"
2. Use the setup from "C:\AMD\Win10-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-2020-Edition-20.1.1-Jan9" reinstall it.
You can always use "Display Driver Uninstaller" if you want to do a fresh install
You now know what the culprit is stopping Nioh from starting! Hope this works for you good luck!
