No Async Compute on Rise of the Tomb Raider?

Jump to solution

Hello! so i was just curious to see if this game (being a DX12 title and all) supported Async Compute... i found a registry entry to enable or disable this feature. it's located in...
(Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Crystal Dynamics\Rise of the Tomb Raider\ Graphics)

changing "AsyncCompute" in that location from 1 to 0 and re-testing the benchmark showed literally zero difference in benchmark scores.

I thought this game was supposed to use use Async Compute? or am i mistaking?

As you can see there is like no difference with it enabled or disabled. any clarification to this would be greatly appreciated.

i've been waiting on Nixxes to respond for quite awhile now. so i figured i'd try here, to see if there was any known issues or whatknot. Anyway, after digging around some more i found an article claiming that Async Compute was going to be added during a later patch after DX12. thanks for the prompt replies anyway.

It shows different values (especially for min/max FPS) every time I run it. This game has a horrible unreliable benchmark mode not to mention the DX12 mode is much slower.

Don't know what happened, but this isn't what we would usually expect from a once great developer like Nixxes...

Async Compute is supported on the PC version.

Thanks for the feedback, i will make sure it reaches the right people within AMD.

Async Compute has to be enabled in the application. so you might want to direct your question to the developer.
