Drivers & Software

Need tools to install Linux drivers for graphics card.

I have a Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics card and I am using Linux mint as my OS, x64 system. Linux mint comes with a menu that shows you what drivers you can install. No graphics card drivers are shown (though I don't have the drivers required by the software I use installed) so I downloaded the proprietary drivers from the internet. It is a .run file for linux-x86_64.

When I hit install it tells me my system does not have the required tools installed, and that I need do install them before trying to install these drivers. Then it says there is a log with more information but all it says is just the same, that I need the tools to be able to install that driver, but it doesn't mention the name of the tools or at least of the creator of the tools so that I'm able to install this driver.

I got a picture with both messages so that yoy see what I mean:

As you can see, no name whatsoever.

So, what are those tools I need and where can I get them?

Thank you in advance.
