msi rx570 8g black screen/signal loss, radeon settings crash

Hello, I recently purchased a rx 570. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B076Y93L8F/ref=pe_3034960_236394800_TE_dp_1 DDU'd my old HD7750 drivers out, installed the 570 then downloaded the drivers. It will boot to windows, but will randomly freeze up, and I will get a pop up saying default wattman settings have been restored due to an unexpected system failure. Trying to open radeon settings after this happens causes radeon settings to crash and reboot. After this happens (could be after the first or seventh time it pops up) I will lose signal to my monitor. My google-fu has failed me so far to try to resolve this myself, so I am hoping someone will be able to help me.
