Monitor Blackscreen Issues

Whenever I use Fullscreen, my monitor goes black. I then have to ALT-Tab out to do anything. I have an MPG27CQ and a Reference Vega 64 (Sapphire).. The only thing that resolves the issue is to disable FreeSync or enable Advanced Sync. Both of these workarounds are not ideal solutions. I don't want to use HDMI 2.0 either as it doesn't support the full 144Hz. Does anyone know of any fixes? Thanks.

Also, me. I don't have the issue in Windowed mode. It is only Fullscreen with 1440P, FreeSync, 144Hz. I have tried changing the color-depth, tried voltage swing for the DisplayPort cable, and I have tried to reinstall the latest 18.12.2 drivers. To no avail.
