I am recording locally.
Previously, in the upper left of the screen there would be a timer indicating how long I have been recording.
Now, I just see a red rectangle at in the upper corner to indicate I am recording.
How do I bring the timer display back?
Enable 'Show Indicator' in Rec. & Stream settings.

That was already enabled.
I tried toggling it off and then on again; no change.
