Linux video tearing since Radeon Software Crimson Edition

Since I upgraded my driver in the hopes that I can use my discrete graphic card so I can use more than 128mb in VirtualBox, but I can't because my 2015 gpu isn't supported, I also got new "features" along with the shiny new name change for Amd Radeon Software Crimson Edition(formerly Catalyst Control Center).

The new features include:

-playback tearing

-missing "tear free" option from the Control Center.

Is there any way to remove these features?

I have reverted to an older (catalyst) version so I can enjoy "tear free" on my Dell Inspiron 15 5555 notebook, so the issue is not with Ubuntu, but with this so called upgrade.

I have tried the following video players: SMplayer(tried various configurations),Vlc,Kodi.

Open Source drivers have the same issue, so do not dare tell me to use them thank you.
