I'm using HD6630m 'n Windows 10 x64.
After installing Crimson Software there's no OpenCl support.
Same problem using linux, AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
clinfo and examples in SDK:
-segfault when not run as root,
-do not see a GPU
reverting to amd-catalyst-15.9-linux-installer-15.201.1151-x86.x86_64.zip and the problems disappear
The HD6000 series have moved into legacy status, there are no plans for any driver updates for these products,
Yes, I already know that Mr. Ray. The point is: OpenCL was working fine in Catalyst drivers, and since the launch of Crimson (which I'm grateful by that) it's been broken, which means it doesn't work. If I'm reading right, you're saying that AMD has no interest in fixing that?
Don't get me wrong, I know the hardware is obsolete, but is it asking too much to have a final driver working correctly?
I'm in the same boat... It's been a couple of Crimson releases for these non-gcn cards and it hasn't been fixed while we still have some useless stuff like Mantle .dlls and so on which doesn't work on our cards. Shame on you, AMD. I hope someone will fix this issue eventually.
OpenCL is present with Crimson 16.7.2 etc, GPU-Z shows it as present.
AFAIK nobody is using it much as DX12 is more or less taking over with Windows 10 being widely adopted
