Installing graphics card driver lead to black screen

Hello, I hope someone has a solution for me because I don't know what to do anymore . . .

I've had my computer for about two years and last week it wouldn't boot anymore except in safe mode. After trying several things I decided to completely reinstall Windows after formatting my SSD. Installation finished, I started to install all the different drivers, I noticed that when installing the driver for my graphics card, in the middle of the installation my monitor suddently displays a black screen, then the pc restarts and show the advanced reboot screen. I can't start it normally except in safe mode or after uninstalling the driver.

I tried :
- Completely reinstall Windows (11 and 10)
- Uninstall using AMD cleanup utility / DDU
- Using earlier versions of drivers (on the graphics card and others components)
- Reseting CMOS
- Updating my BIOS
- Instaling Mini / driver only
- Factory reset
- Probably other things but I can't remember

My configuration :
- B450M PRO-VDH MAX
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
- 250 GB SSD KINGSTON SA2000M8250G

(I'm new here, sorry if I put this post in the wrong category)

They were already installed, I uninstalled them and reinstalled but the problem remains the same.

have you tried, 2-3 other hdmi cables.. or even monitor?   in bios, you can try to force the pci express 4.0, instead of default

I did try different cables and monitors, no effect. My PCI only go to the 3.0 version, also tried to force use it but it didn't change a thing.

Starting to look like your GPU may be going bad..

Try taking out some RAM and trying 1 module at a time.. As you do it try to install the drivers..

Most likely your power supply is going bad as well as your Graphics Card!!! Try to replace your power supply, get at least 1000 Watts with Titanium

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case as I had this power supply for  around 6 years. Since I can't afford to change it now, and since I'm not completely sure the problem is from the power supply, I'm looking to see if it could be coming from somewhere else before changing it

Hey man have you managed to find a solution??

I have tried new psu and a new upgrade kit (Ram, CPU and mobo) and that didn't work and if I install drivers from 2020 it works... But I can't update to anything newer without it crashing windows and me needing to do a system restore

@Jontii,

Have you installed the latest chipset drivers before you install GPU drivers?
