My HD 5800 has served me well for that last 10 years. However, after a Microsoft Windows update a few weeks ago, it has started to act strange. Some input fields in dialogue boxes are filled with black (black background and black font so not really possible to enter anything) and some programs formats text weirdly and show text transparent on background.

Is this a well-known error and anything I can do?

Which HD5800 card do you have? Is this a laptop or desktop? There are no new drivers from AMD for this series graphics cards/chips...they are Legacy (meaning no more updates).
