Having issues with Rocket League Crashing mid game

Having issues with Rocket League Crashing mid game, On my PC using steam. I've already tried the psyonix crashing guide didnt help.

I've tried following this article https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054169294-Crashing-on-a-PC
I've tried to update my drivers and even my motherboard to version F31.

These crashes started happening after buying and installing a ryzen 9 5900x, and since i had to upgrade my motherboard i got myself an Aorus X570 Pro, and i have an radeon rx 5700 xt.

Its probably hard for you guys to know whats actually happening, and why it is crashing, but if i could get a way to record the process, of whats actually happening in the background(code log) while its crashing, maybe i could give you more useful information.

(exstra info: when it crashes it dosent crash with a black screen, it just suddenly seems like its pausing mid game and then it exits rocket league, no error code)

Hardware info:
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x
GPU: Radeon RX 5700 XT
PSU: Corsair RM850i
Screen 1: Asus 27" Rog Swift PG278QE
Screen 2: BenQ G2420HD
SSD: Crucial MX500 M.2 1TB
HDD 1: WD Desktop Black 4TB 3.5" HDD
HDD 2: WD Desktop Black 6TB 3.5" HDD

Thank you for posting these error and event details.
All of them are generic event application crashes, most likely caused by system instability and/or driver issues.
The event ID 1000 and 1002 are not actually telling us why they crashed.

There are several things that can cause these issues.
Step by step system and hardware checks are recommended.

You have recently installed a new motherboard and CPU.
And you also updated your BIOS to another version.

Please answer some questions for me:
1) Did you use your old windows install and just swapped motherboard and CPU?
-> or did you do a fresh install of windows?
-> If you are still using the old install, you might have to do a clean driver install in Safe Mode.

2) Did you set up your BIOS correctly after switching to the new motherboard?
-> any overclock or undervolt?
-> XMP (RAM profile) enabled?

3) Are your windows updates enabled?
-> not having them enabled might cause instability because of outdated drivers or compatibility issues

You have followed the "Rocket League" guide for fixing issues...
4) Did you manage to reinstall/update .NET Framework?

---

My personal steps to fix this would be:

1) enter BIOS and "load/restore default settings" (most likely [F6] hotkey)
-> or clear CMOS and then enter BIOS
-> this will require you to manually change/check your settings again, either way.

You want to make sure that your system is stable and that your BIOS settings
are all set up correctly without any overclocking or undervolting. (default values)

2) after BIOS is set up again, follow this guide:
https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmanager/event-id-1000.html
-> you can skip step 4 from this guide, if you already checked .NET Framework yourself

3) A fresh install of the GPU driver might help to solve your problem:

3.1) Download DisplayDriverUninstaller from guru3d (link)
-> its an ZIP archive and you need to extract it before you can use it

3.2) run it as administrator in Windows Safe Mode (restart required)
-> it is important to use it in Safe Mode so it can clean all remaining files!

3.3) within DDU go to settings and block the Windows Updates temporarily (checkbox)
-> remember to undo this step when you are done with installing the new driver
-> if you don't want to use that option, you can also unplug your LAN cable instead

3.4) confirm the settings you made and then use DDU to uninstall the current driver
-> restart your system after this and install the recommended driver for your GPU (20.11.2)
-> restart system again

3.5) open DDU as administrator again and uncheck the block Windows Updates checkbox
-> you don't want your windows updates blocked permanently

---

4) monitor your CPU / system / GPU temps
-> make sure your temps are below 60°C idle (desktop use)
-> make sure your temps are below 85°C under load

Please have a look at Windows Reliability Monitor and Event Log.
These are built in tools to monitor software, driver and operating system crashes.

Post all error messages and error/event codes here.

And also go ahead and start to google these codes yourself.
Often there can be simple solutions to these problems, or at least other people who solved it.

Hey, i've got some event logs for you.

It seems like i get two diffrent kinds of crashes

1. The screen freezes, and exits the game.

2.The screen goes Black but does not exit game just continues to process.

Hey, Thank you for all the detailed information and (step by step)

1) Yes i did get a fresh install of windows, because it got corrupted or of that kind

2) i didn't do much in the bios i only changed the order of the boot devices, btw i had to use Qflash to update my motherboard before installing the cpu, i also updated my bios again after to 31F the latest.

->i did not overclock or undervolt
->yes i have XMP (RAM profile) enabled

3) Are your windows updates enabled?
-> i have it enabled but it seems like it also has an error :-(

2021-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4598242)

Error code: (0x8007000d)

I searched the internet and found out that a program called restoro might fix it, i already tried the scan feature, and it dected problems like windows update error and rocketleague, but i would then have to pay to use fix it, and if i try to use the fix feature then i might not be able to finish this problem solving, i want this post to be complete with an answer.

I will try to see if i can fix it with any of the suggetions i find on the internet.

4) Yes i did, it said .NET Framework 4.6.2 or a later update is already installed on this computer.

->should i try to uninstall and then reinstall it?

I will try your personal steps to fix.

Ive used DDU once before when i switched from Nvidia to AMD I didnt know before now, that doing it in safe mode and running as admin would be that important but makes sense.

Clearing CMOS is recommended whenever you update your BIOS.
The old BIOS settings might not be correct for the new BIOS version and options.
So if you did not clear CMOS (or "load default settings") yet, you should do that.
-> just remember to check your settings again, after you did that (boot order, etc.)
-> Have a look at this topic for reference settings (link)

---

Regarding the Windows Update Error, you can try this:
https://www.howtoedge.com/fix-update-error-0x8007000d-in-windows-10/

Tools like restoro will make you pay for fixing stuff, that you can fix yourself,
if you invest the time to find out what is going on with the problem.

---

When you are using DisplayDriverUninstaller (DDU), there are a few things to remember:

• always run it in windows safe mode and as administrator
-> this will give the needed access rights to change/delete the driver files.
-> using DDU without the access privileges could result in leftover files (= more problems)

• either unplug your LAN cable or block Windows Updates temporarily
DDU will restart your system after it has uninstalled your driver and as soon
as you log back into windows the Windows Updates will detect your GPU is missing its driver.

At this point Windows Updates might be messing up your uninstall work with a driver,
that Windows "thinks" is the best for your GPU, but in fact might cause even more problems.
And when you then install the recommended driver by hand, you are most likely installing it
over the existing Windows Update GPU driver files and might end up where you started.

Just don't forget to plug in your LAN cable or uncheck that checkbox in DDU to enable
your Windows Updates again, after the driver install is completed.

Hey, i am finished with the Step by step fix.

First i tried everystep in the site you linked to (fix Windows update error) but unfortunatly it did not work, but i got an idea about something i had done before, and that was to use WindowsMediaCreationTool(link) when i had downloaded the file and opened it, i chose the option windows 10 upgrade, it then upgraded my pc to the latest version and repaired also the windows update error.

After all that i followed the Step by Step fix.

  1. Set Bios to default, redid my settings.
  2. Installed DDU, restarted in safe mode and opened DDU as admin, check turn off windows updates, uninstalled the gpu driver and restart.
  3. At last i Installed the the latest recommended driver(20.11.2) and unchecked in DDU (turn off windows updates)

After i checked the desktop temps I tweaked my fans a bit and in the end i thought it was time to test Rocket League and see if i crashed or not.

It did not, after playing for 2 hours it has still not crashed, i often usually started crashing from 10 to 30min, so im positive that it is fixed, if not ill be back, but as of now, i accept this method as the solution.

Thanks @RPX100for all the help.

@MaxVulpes I am glad that you are now able to enjoy your game again.
Have fun and enjoy your currently stable system and keep us posted if anything else happens.

cheers
