Sorry have been away overseas. No fix as yet. I have read another thread saying that power was the problem but I haven't been able to transplant mine yet. What seems to be causing dwm.exe to crash is the display driver pooping itself. Event viewer shows that amdkmdap has crashed and then recovered, or sometimes it doesn't recover and I gotta hard reboot it. Not sure if that helps but I'm still having the issue. Are you getting the same crash showing in event viewer?
Hey i am having similar issues. I will download event viewer and update. I
have the exact same problems except i never have to reboot. Weird thing is
my setup is like 6 months old. Radeon VII, 1000w psu. Started happening
maybe a couple months ago. Has NEVER happened when im gaming. Only at
desktop, usually browsing on chrome or in discord.
Event viewer is part of windows, right click on this PC and then manage, you will see it there. It's an odd problem to be sure. If yours is only recent, you can try a system restore to an earlier time if you have a point saved before the issue started, or a backup from your first install. If you remember when it started you could also check for an update, like windows, which may have been the cause. My guess is a windows update broke something between the gpu drivers and windows, which causes evil shenanigans like this. Good luck!
Whats your gpu? And psu?
I just had four black screens in a row, which has never happened. They've
always been isolated instances. I pulled up event viewer and it showed me
this. Dont really know what it means but maybe you will. Let me know what
you think, thanks.

Not sure about those problems on event viewer. For me, I've notice that if I free up more memory on my harddrives then the issue is less severe, ie recovering more instead of blank screen and unresponsive. This could indicate that it's a power issue for me? not sure. If that thread helps you then I'd be interested to know what worked for you. Best of luck with it. I will post if i manage to figure anything out.
Check it out, im not sure if you saw this thread, but theres a TON of
people dealing with this. Microsoft techs and AMD techs are working
together to try and fix it.
