freesync not recognized

My panel:

LG 27UL500-W: 27'' Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor with HDR 10 (27'' Diagonal) | LG USA

offers AMD FreeSync but even today's driver still does not recognize it

I am using my Sapphire RX 480 8GB card and even 19.10.1 is not recognizing it

Check "\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\amdkmdag" - if the key "ChillEnabled" contains a broken value (it says something like "invalid value" in the "Data" column), delete the key. Editing the key doesn't work if the data type is wrong, you have to delete it. Then DO NOT REBOOT YET. Create a new DWORD (or QWORD if using win64) ChillEnabled entry. Give it the value of 0 hex. I also edited "\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\amdkmdag" the same way. screenshot1.jpgscreenshot2.jpgYou can now reboot.

Hope this helps.

I checked my panel settings and it showed it as off, so I manually enabled it

immediately my settings were a mess, windows went back to 150% enlargement etc. So I had fix that too.

At least now the AMD settings display shows it is enabled in my panel's advanced mode
