EGL Driver Message floods logs

System: CentOS 7 (latest release)

CPU: AMD 3700X

Multithreading: on

AMDGPU: 20.40-1147286.el7

Memory: 64 GiB

Desktop. Gnome 3.28

Since I updated the amdgpu driver to the newest version, my logfile is flooded with messages like:

Okt 26 18:22:53 ******* google-chrome.desktop[22218]: [9938:9938:1026/182253.868762:ERROR:gl_surface_egl.cc(741)] EGL Driver message (Error) eglGetMscRateANGLE: glXGetMscRateOML failed.

Okt 26 18:22:54 ******* google-chrome.desktop[22218]: [9938:9938:1026/182254.468271:ERROR:gl_surface_egl.cc(741)] EGL Driver message (Error) eglGetMscRateANGLE: glXGetMscRateOML failed.

There are a few hundreds per second, an it makes the Program / System unusable. How can this be? I'm not the only one with the problem. It's there since a several weeks without any solution. I always liked AMD, have several systems with AMD CPU / GPUs, but for Grafic cards, I have to switch over to NVIDIA if this problem persists.

There are also various problem under CentOS7 with VLC, which was working fine until I changed the graphics card to the rx5700. Since then it was not possible to play movies without hangs, stuttering or even freezes of the whole System!

Please fix these problems with your linux drivers, they are a mess (sorry to say that as an real AMD fan for decades).
