Driver Timeout on No Man's Sky

I've been having this infuriating issue with No Man's Sky. Usually between 1-20 minutes whilst roaming around on a planet (doesn't seem to occur in space) I get a sudden blank white screen and then crash to desktop- followed by AMD adrenalin saying that a driver timeout has occured. Windows Events states that the driver ran into an issue and successfully recovered. My graphics card is an RX5700XT

Here's what I've tried:

Running Memtest overnight (no issues)
Going between latest optional and recommended Adrenalin version
Lowering CPU speed from 4.9GHz to 4GHz (with a 3.5GHz ring ratio).
Reinstalling the game, verifying files etc.
Reinstalling windows completely
Various different in game settings
Setting my (desktop) PC from balance to high performance power plan

Part of me wants to blame Vulkan as I had a crashing issue with Red Dead Online until I switched it from Vulkan to Direct X. Sadly you can't do this with NMS though.

Other specs:

Intel Core i9 10900
16GB DDR4 RAM

Try downclocking the GPU a bit. It used to help me.
