Confused with BOIS and Chipset versions

If I open Armoury Crate then open TOOLS/DRIVERS it lists for the AMD chipset Driver version 2.11.26.106 as being the latest and installed version, yet am being told on AMD websites  that the latest driver is 3.10.08.506.

AMD Chipset Driver 2.11.26.106 is listed in Programs and Features, so I uninstalled and then installed 3.10.08.506, Armoury Crate now stated that no chipset driver is installed, Program and Features also does not show any AMD chipset drivers as being installed. How do I find out if an AMD chipset driver is now installed and what version.

This is my first PC away from INTEL, so when reading about what is required to update the BIOS it appears daunting, with Intel you are advised that a BIOS update is available and it is installed, Not so with AMD, firstly there seems to be 2 BIOS versions to update, one for the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 which currently has ver.2003 installed and Aus Prime B550M-A(Wl-Fl) which has BOIS ver.0603 installed. Are these versions the latest available, not really looking forward to installing BOIS updates.

To know the definitive version of the AMD driver that is installed on your computer, go to the control panel - uninstall a program and in the list of programs, check where the AMD driver is, on the right side the installed version appears

The latest BIOS version for the B550M-A (WiFi) is version 2423 (08/17/2021) : https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/PRIME/PRIME-B550M-A-WI-FI/HelpDesk_BIOS...

The motherboard's first and original BIOS Version 0236 has support for the Ryzen 5 3600 processor. So that processor will work out of the box.

When you purchased the Motherboard it has installed the latest BIOS version at the time of it being manufactured. So if it has BIOS version 0603 on it. That was the latest version at that time.

There is no specific Ryzen 5 3600 BIOS version since the original BIOS 0236 Version supported that processor when the motherboard first came out. So all new BIOS version supports the 3600 processor.

The latest Windows 11 Asus AMD CHIPSET for your motherboard is version 3.08.06.148 (10/15/2021): https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/PRIME/PRIME-B550M-A-WI-FI/HelpDesk_Down...

But the latest Windows 10 Asus AMD CHIPSET is version 2.11.26.106 (02/02/2021):

Since you seemed to have installed AMD CHIPSET directly from AMD Download page and not Asus's AMD CHIPSET that might be the reason why it doesn't show up in Armoury Crate.

You can go to Device Manager and click on the AMD Drivers to see if the versions installed matches the versions from the CHIPSET package.

But when you installed the AMD CHIPSET package and it reported it installed successfully then all your drivers have been updated that needed to be updated.

Here are all the CHIPSET drivers in the AMD CHIPSET Package that was installed:

Thank you for your advice, I have just installed Asus Prime Chipset Driver 3.10.22.706, which does display in Armoury Crate and Program & Features.

Have not as yet installed BIOS version 2423, staying with 2003 for the moment, working on the principle, if it ain't broke, don't fix it
