I am on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.

When installing the amdgpu-pro driver version 20.30 opencl works fine, everything works as expected. I can run clinfo without issues and without hangups. With driver 20.45 clinfo hangs, in fact any opencl app hangs. I posted this on github where my ticket was closed with the comment that navi gpus are not supported with opencl.

Since it was working with 20.30 and ist not working with 20.45 this statement seems bogus.

Does anyone know what is up with that? For now I am reverting to 20.30.

Not sure what is going on but if it is repeatable you did the right thing in regressing the driver.

In Radeon Settings there is a Bug Report tool too you can submit the issue or

Thanks for your reply, I'll give it a shot. I was just wondering if anyone else is running into the same issue or if this is isolated to my system only. I can definitely reproduce it.
