Hi all,
My graphics card
GIGABYTE GV-R736OC-2GD
AMD Radeon™ R7 360 GPU, 2GB GDDR5 , Memory Bus 128 bit, Card Bus PCI-E 3.0, Digital max resolution 4096 X 2160, DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5, Card size H=34 L=146 W=112 mm
It was working fine up to Windows 7 x64. It worked in Windows 10 x64 couple of years back with random blank screen and reboot then windows error that graphics has recovered from some serious issue. and slowly it started giving bsod thread stuck in driver. and finally a permanent bsod. same in Windows 11 x64.
On a Win 10 x64 machine when first inserting the card, it just works with Microsoft basic display driver. The moment I install AMD driver on restart it gives BSOD with Error "Thread Stuck in Device Driver". Same error keeps cycling on every reboot and I never reach to log in screen.
I have to boot win in safe mode then I have to delete AMD driver using DDU util and on next reboot it boots with Microsoft basic driver.
I have tried many things but no success
conclusion:
There is some driver mismatch from AMD starting from Win 10 for this card
It never worked on Win 10 x64 and above. the moment I install AMD driver, BSOD
so what is the solution. I have two choices now:
I believe it is an old breed so AMD is not going to do anything for this issue. your expertise required.
I have decided if this card does not work in win 10 win 11 then this will be my last AMD card. I will throw away it and switch to other solutions
waiting,
is there anything that can be done for above?
