i dont know what i done exactly, but after i changed the driver for pci bus, my sound is back. thanks for the tip.
I tried to change the pci bus driver some time ago after i saw your post, but windows didn´t show me more than the already installed version.
Today i tried again and it showed me a second option (microsoft), I selected it and the AMD HDA device does not disappear anymore!
does that mean you have installed the newest ATI driver on your PC and changed the driver for the pci bus? Still not sure how this works..
yeah got your point.. but HOW can I switch the PCI Bus driver? Just deliting the .dll from AMD?
When I click on "update driver" is says it has already the newest installed..
1.- Right click on the "Pci bus" device manager entry and choose "update driver software"
2.- Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"
3.- Click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
4.- Click the "PCI bus" entry (PCI in all caps) not the "Pci bus" entry with just the first letter capitalized.
5.- Click "Next" and wait for the driver to be installed.
6.- Reboot your pc.
I can't believe it - new driver version and this is still unresolved. That amdmatt guy went completely silent and doesn't seem to care anymore. They also won't add this to the unresolved issues in the changelog. Sad!
Still not working in 17.9.2. Work around I use as mentioned earlier is just uninstalling the graphics card driver "R9 200 series graphics adapter" and letting it reinstall itself. takes like 2 minutes or so, stupid work around but at least im not reinstalling the full amd driver suite every time i reboot now lol.
We have tried to reproduce this bug, but so far we have been unable despite several attempts on different configurations.
In order to help others in the thread, please could you share more details of your workaround while we continue to investigate?
