I have an HP Pavilion TS 14 which has an AMD APU-5000 Quad Core.
I also have a meter which monitors CPU Cycle/Stress, RAM, Swap, etc.
With AMD Catalyst 15.7.1 .. the APU is normal.. no throttling per cycle.
But with the latest AMD Crimson.. the APU throttles every cycle.
This throttling causes lag..
I was hoping Crimson would be fixed by now..
But i cannot use Crimson and must stick with Catalyst 15.7.1.
Thank You.
Nevermind.. found my answer after posting.
it's because AMD APU 5000 is now considered LEGACY and are not supported by Crimson.
You are mistaken...your APU is supported > Windows 10 Driver Support for AMD APU Graphics Products
You are reading a notice about graphics cards...not APU's.
Right, the OP's APU has GCN architecture:

seanlee, does this program help you?
ClockBlocker Download Version 1.2.5
Also, how hot is your APU when it throttles? What settings are available for power via Windows and AMD options?
thanks a lot guys..
u sure my apu is still supported?
here's a picture of the CPU meter im using for monitoring.
when i install the Crimson.. Core 1 and Core 3 constantly spikes every cycle..
this spiking results in lag every cycle..
i've been trying every Crimson release but the same spike/throttling occurs..
so i figured my apu was legacy..
im sure it affects others..
just others are not aware due to no monitoring meter like me.
as for the temps.. im unsure.. the meter does not provide temps..
and i uninstall the drivers as soon as i verify it spikes/throttles.
FYI: the spike/throttling shoots up to 80% - 90%...
Read this post/solution > I Need Better Core Distribution on My FX 6200
guess there's no real solution..
i'll just keep an eye out for new Crimson releases and keep trying.
Thanks to everyone.
