AMD 5700XT not showing display on one monitor and saying "input not supported" on my other monitor

Computer Type: Custom Desktop

GPU: AMD MSI/XFX 5700XT and my old GPU is an Nvidia GTX 970

CPU: intel i5 4690k

Motherboard: Asus z97 pro gamer

RAM: 24gb 1600mhz

PSU: EVGA 850Watt gold

Operating System & Version: Windows 10

GPU Drivers: My 970 is up to date but I cannot install any for the 5700xt because there is no display

Acer monitor with HDMI to HDMI cable and Dell monitor VGA to DisplayPort

I have now bought 3 AMD 5700XT's, two from XFX and now one from MSI and all three do not show any display one the dell and it says input not supported on my acer monitor. If I plug the acer into a different port, it wont say anything, it will just be black like the dell monitor. I talked with AMD the first two times and they thought they were DOA but I don't think that's the issue anymore.

Things that I have tried:

Put the GPU in different PCI E slots

Tried a different computer and the same thing happens

Booting off the Intel integrated graphics and checking to see if the GPU shows up and it doesn't

AMD told me that my mobo shouldn't have any compatibility issues but I don't know if that's true.

I DID NOT update my BIOS from the 2015 (initial release) to 2016 ONLY update but I was afraid of "Bricking" my mobo so maybe this is the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
