I have tried just about every driver package listed on amd.com for the A9-9420 and R5.

The installer will say the hardware detected is unknown. The chipset package worked leaving just the USB 2.0 and ACPI devices unknown. When I look at the radeon installer package file structure, it doesn't look like any usable drivers are available in graphics/packages/drivers/display.

Seems like the installer package has to decompress or generate the files which is strange. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Get the chipset drivers and bios update from the manufacturer's support site.

** Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 must be fully updated before attempting to install any AMD driver. All 'critical', 'recommended', and 'optional' (no language packs,etc) updates as well as any Service Packs (SP) must be installed before any attempt to install graphics drivers.
