First of all I would like to introduce myself to everyone in the AMD community. A lot of you know me from Twitter as mech_cheese but I feel as though a more formal introduction would be better. My name is Randy Gunter, I am 35 years old and I live in Ozark, AR. I have quite a large family which I devote most of my time to. Between my wife and I we have 7 beautiful children, 6 girls and 1 boy, ranging in age from 14 to 4 (Yes my son is the youngest). We are a tech loving family with me leading the way and teaching each one of them what I know so that they will never be left in the dark as far as technology goes.
I am also a gamer when I do have the free time, I enjoy all genres of games but mostly survival and racing simulators. I started gaming as a kid playing on our Atari 2600 with my older brother on a small black and white tv that my grandma had given us. Due to my internet connection where I live I cannot stream on twitch as much as I would love to but I enjoy being able to watch others stream. I have numerous hobbies as well besides gaming. I have a vinyl plotter which I make decals with, wood working, screen printing and wrenching on cars just to name a few. I currently have a technical certificate in Automotive Service Technology from my local college and have decided to return again this fall and pursue a bachelors in Computer Information Systems.
I will be quite a bit more active in the community as well as on Twitter. I hope that I get to know each and everyone to some extent and if I can be of assistance to anyone whether it is something tech related or any of my other acquired skills. If you would like to know anything else about me feel free to ask.
Hello Randy - and welcome to this "little" thing of ours! Sounds like you have your hands full with the Family and also congratulations on upcoming CIS plans!
I just sent you a follow on Twitter and saw some of the decals you posted - the Asus logo on the spinner, is that something you made? If so would you be able to make some custom decals for me? I'd gladly pay for materials/time etc so just let me know on there. Also, if you find the time to game and need a co-op partner, hit me up!
Again, welcome to the AMD family.
PS, if you have an AMD rig, post it in the rig section above !
Let me know what ever decals you need, I would be happy to make them for you. I am thinking about doing a small website in order to show case some of the work I have done, what I have posted on twitter is just a drop in the bucket lol. As far as an AMD rig, I don't have one right now but there is one in the works. It will be an AMD FX 9590 custom water cooled in my most recent case mod (https://medium.com/@Mech_Cheese/dell-xps-710-case-mod-4ae425c2d79f). Some wonderful people on twitter are helping out with the components on that project. I will be doing a build log/build video of it so once everything is said and done then I will showcase it. Thank you for the warm welcome and I hope to hear from you soon.
I LOVE that riveted look on your mod! I can't wait to see it posted someday in the rig section. If you're short any other parts, send me a DM on Twitter or a message here!
Welcome to the community,
That was a really nice introduction to yourself.
Its never easy talking about oneself.
Nice to hear about your plans for the 9590
I always wanted to get one of those myself too,
And your vinyl plotter...
Did you manufacture it or buy it?
That is another thing I would like to dabble in together with 3D printing.
Alas.... There is just not enough hours in the day...
Thank you for the reply! I have huge plans as far as mods go, it is just getting the funds and time to do them. The vinyl plotter was actually a gift to me from my dad a few years back (I had the skills and ability to design decals he wanted) I mainly just use it as a hobby anymore than anything else. I will eventually purchase a 3d printer to help with creating things for future mods. If you have any questions about vinyl cutting or anything else for that matter just let me know, I am more than happy to answer anything I can.
