How many shader cores in AMD A8-6410?

Hello, the question is how many shader cores in AMD Beema A8-6410 Radeon R5 gpu? There is many information: 128like other Beema/Kabini/Mullins/Teemash, 256,386, 512.

In many test programs(like GPU-Z or AIDA) in reviews it's show 512 shader cores.

Gee, wouldn't the world be nice if someone just had this information in a spec sheet somewhere.

This whitepaper (http://www.amd.com/Documents/Compute_Cores_Whitepaper.pdf) explains how many shader cores are there in a “GPU core” in the GCN architecture: “AMD’s GCN compute units are grouped together by a dedicated scheduler that feeds four 16-wide SIMD vector processors, a scalar processor,…”

So, 64 shader cores/GPU core.

There are 4 GPU cores on the A8-6410. See: http://www.amd.com/en-gb/products/processors/notebook-tablet/apus

Answer: 256.

I would NOT bet the farm on that But I believe it is a reliable answer. Anyone see a problem with the analysis?

Let me see if I can come up with a definitive answer. I've seen 128 most commonly, but also 160, 320, and 256. It may be because there are variants of the R5 as discrete GPUs. Let me see if I can track down what is on the APU.

It's about AMD A8-6410 integrated gpu, not discrete.

And discrete gpu's R5 will show the model too, like r5 230 etc.

O, if there is really 4 GPU cores than it's really true.

But here http://www.amd.com/en-gb/products/processors/notebook-tablet/apus is only information about 4CPU cores in AMD A8-6410, and NO information about GPU cores

On the cited link, the "Spec" tab is precisely as you say - just says 4 CPU cores. But it is an APU, there MUST be at least one GPU core.

Happily, the "Features" tab does have the number of cores. At the bottom (not in screenshot) that table specifically lists the A8-6410.  Now, why that tidbit is in the "Features" and not in the "Spec," well, suboptimal tech writing I suppose. But at least we could find it.

A8-6410 is a Beema according to this site (AMD A-Series A8-6410 Notebook Processor - NotebookCheck.net Tech)

If it is a Beema, then I think it only has 2GPU CUs. AnandTech | AMD Beema/Mullins Architecture & Performance Preview

I think using the same A10,A8,A6 etc branding for both mainstream Kaveri/Trinity based APUs and Beema/Mullins APU is causing confusion.

Yep, I've seen the same information that there are 2 GPU cores. Hence my "don't bet the farm on this." But the table on our site specifically references A8-6410 and says it has four GPU cores. You are probably right on the source of confusion. I'll be passing on this confusion as feedback to appropriate people. If I learn anything TRULY definitive, I'll certainly pass it on.

But in this picture is A6 with 3GPU cores, I have an a6-5200 and it has 2gpu cores, same with a6-6310

I"ll pass that feedback on to whatever marketing person I can track down who may own this page.

As you report,...

Page says A6 has 3 GPU

Reality says A6 has 2 GPU

Thanks for the report.
