Generic PnP and No HDR :(

Samsung Neo G8

Hello!

After 23 years of console gaming, I finally made the switch over to PC in May and it's been pretty great when I ignore the details! One thing that I haven't addressed that I'm attempting to now, is my Samsung Neo G8 is being recognized as a "Generic PnP Monitor" and HDR is "Not Supported".
This is happening on clean installs of Windows 10 and Windows 11. I've clean installed drivers for the monitor. I've purchased and tried different DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 cables. I've factory reset my monitor and updated to the latest firmware. If it means anything, I've also clean installed Adrenalin to the latest update (24.9.1).

Not sure how huge of a deal this is, but I was reading that my monitor SHOULD be recognized! I'm still getting my 4k240 out of it, but it would be nice to be able to use HDR!

Thank you for your time and any helpful responses!

Have a great rest of your week!

Sincerely,

(And I do have to apologize. I was trying to put this under "PC Drivers and Software", but there were no options under anything but "Red Team" and "ProRender")
(Edit: corrected 24.9*.1 from 24.0.1)

First does your Monitor support HDR?  Make & Model you are using.

Second do you have HDR enabled in Windows and possibly on your PC Monitor's settings?

You mentioned you downloaded your PC Monitor's driver and installed it. Then Device Manager should show your Monitor's Make or Model and not Generic PnP.

What does DXDIAG.exe show concerning your Monitor?

My LG 32" 60 Hz 4K monitors had an application to install when I set them up.  After running that application, the monitor would be recognized by Windows.  There might be a similar application for your Samsung Neo G8 monitor.
