Star Wars™ Battlefront™ is arguably the most anticipated game of the year, and personally I can’t wait to shoot some Rebel scum on Hoth. I was one of the lucky people who got to see the first PC gameplay a few weeks ago, and I can’t remember a time when I was more excited about a game launch than I am now for Star Wars Battlefront.

If you thought you have to wait until November to play the game, guess again!

AMD is bringing the first-ever hands-on with Star Wars Battlefront on PC to gamers at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego. A few days from now, in a 1,000 square foot demo area at Nerd HQ, powered by AMD graphics, fans can immerse themselves in their Star Wars battle fantasies by going hands-on with Walker Assault. Fans will be able to fight in epic 40-player battles in Walker Assault, where Rebels must destroy the Empire’s onslaught of AT-AT’s by calling in Y-Wing bombers. Imperials will need to protect their Walkers while utilizing their mighty weaponry to crush the Rebel objective, all while experiencing stunning, photorealistic visuals as only a PC powered by AMD graphics can provide.

If you saw our livecast where we launched our new AMD Radeon™ R9 and R7 300 series products, Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir, Senior Producer at DICE on Star Wars Battlefront, came on stage with us and showed the world the very first footage taken from the PC version of the game, and talked about what an incredible journey it’s been for the team at DICE working to bring the Star Wars universe to life. In her own words: “Star Wars Battlefront immerses players in an iconic interstellar landscape. In order to do justice to such a complex, stylistic universe and replicate the source materials as closely as possible, we had to enhance our in-house Frostbite engine to fully articulate our vision. AMD helped optimize that engine for the PC, bringing the galaxy far, far away to life in even more detail with support for a range of technologies that make it the best possible experience on PC.”

Of course Sigurlina announced a few weeks ago that Star Wars Battlefront on PC will support 4K resolution gaming When you factor in all of the goodness AMD Gaming Evolved will bring to the title – like native support for AMD Eyefinity multi-monitor technology*, Virtual Super Resolution for better image quality1, AMD FreeSync™ technology for stutter- and tear-free gaming2, and AMD CrossFire™ multi-GPU technology* – the game experience is going to be crazy good. And that’s just the stuff we can talk about right now!

So there you have it – if you want to get your hands-on experience with the game, stay tuned at https://twitter.com/EAStarWars. For gamers interested in early DLC access, pre-order the title at http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/buy. Star Wars™ Battlefront™ will be available for purchase on November 17, 2015 through EA Origin™.

I got to play the Beta, it took me a long time to get working as I had to troubleshoot on my laptop what was wrong, I had to update Service Pack 1 and go through a plethora of updates and then the Nividia graphics driver wasnt' working -.- Finally had it working and it was loads of fun, thought the Hoth map was very unbalanced. A lover of star wars games will really enjoy this!
